Located just west of Edmond, Cross Creek Stables has been a continuously running horse operation since 1962. Countless riders have pursued their dream of riding horses on these grounds. Cross Creek Stables’ staff continues this tradition by offering the best quality instruction, horses and atmosphere for people to realize their dreams. We welcome all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re a child, teen or adult, and are just beginning, or a seasoned rider, we have a place for you!
We have a large indoor riding arena which makes lessons comfortable in any kind of weather. For parents or friends who would like to watch, we have a heated/air-conditioned lounge overlooking the riding arena. And we even have a tornado shelter in the viewing room for your peace of mind!
Our week-long horse summer camps are offered in June and July. What a great way to introduce youngsters to horses, and all elements of equine care! Children with any level experience will enjoy their time at the barn. Campers are matched with a horse at the beginning of the week, receiving instruction on all aspects of basic horsemanship in a safe, interactive, hands-on environment. On Saturday, we host a complimentary, optional horse show for the campers and their families, allowing the kids to show off everything they learned. NEW this year: a special presentation from our veterinarian, and from our farrier for the kids to talk about equine health and shoeing basics! We also incorporated additional all-day and half-day sessions, including a week of camp during Spring Break, in response to overwhelming requests for more options. Summer and Spring Break 2018 are sure to be packed with fun memories, let Cross Creek Stables be a part of your child’s summer!
Barn Shows
We host 4 barn shows during the school year on Saturday from 10:30 am-12:30 pm with check in at 10 am. We have a potluck and crafts for participants and spectators. Barn shows cost $60 for the first class, and $30 for each additional class. Riders may show up to 4 times. Exhibitors are required to wear jods, boots and a helmet.
