The Golden Carrot equine rescue in Southern California

Some of the horses here at The Golden Carrot were badly neglected and deemed unworthy of their owner’s love, attention and even the most basic care before they were rescued. Some were sent to slaughter via auction. Some have been retired here by people whose life situation changed so dramatically, they could no longer help their old friends. Many of those people still send monthly money to help their equine buddies, but it is often not enough to support them entirely. However they get here, each one of these horses, as well as their predecessors and successors deserve to be loved, respected and properly cared for until the end…. The Golden Carrot is dedicated to meeting the needs of these magnificent horses, but we need your help. More donations are needed to support these horses and help more. Feed prices have escalated in the last two years to nearly twice what they were. Can you help?
